Comments | The first Marine Lake and park were formed on the south side of the pier in 1887. On September 29th 1885, the Southport Corporation purchased the whole foreshore which comprised of 2,197 acres from the Scarisbrick Trustees and 1,664 acres from Mr Hesketh. The condition of purchase proviso stated that from the Birkdale Boundary to Seabank Road should not built upon except for recreational purposes. |
