Comments One of the most famous pioneer aviators, Henry Greg Melly was born in 1868. He trained to fly at the Pau Bleriot School of Aviation in France and was issued certificate No 212. Henry Melly constructed two hangers near the beach at Sandheys Avenue, Waterloo. He formed the Liverpool School of Aviation in January 1911 and started advertising for pupils in the Aero magazine in March the same year. Melly flew with his first pupil to the Aerodrome at Freshfield.
